It’s more than environmental. It’s transformational
This is your opportunity to help drive green transformation and a complex change programme that delivers real benefits for our borough, our people and our planet.
In Hounslow, we’re doing something incredible. With the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re determined to drive a green, transformative recovery for our communities and create a net zero borough by 2030. With ambitious Climate Emergency and Green Recovery action plans we’re driving innovation across four key themes: low carbon neighbourhoods, green growth, low carbon green economy and low carbon mobility. And we’re working with leading academics, partners, business leaders and think tanks to make it happen.
You’ll lead the development and implementation of strategies to improve the quality of the environment in Hounslow, with a focus on mitigating the effects of climate change. This will involve taking the lead on either biodiversity or air and noise quality, so you’ll be working closely with people across the borough, from council members and agencies to community leaders and residents.
As an experienced project manager, you’ll lead a variety of change projects through the whole lifecycle. As well as planning, monitoring and controlling processes, you’ll know how to get the best out of multi-disciplined teams and manage budgets to deliver the Climate Emergency action plan.
This is a genuinely ground-breaking role, so we don’t expect you to have previous experience. Instead, we’ll be looking for your knowledge, understanding and potential, together with a record of planning and delivering successful environmental projects using a structured project management methodology. You’ll be used to developing strong partnerships and working with a varied community of providers in highly complex organisations. And with a record of implementing excellent tactical solutions, you’ll be committed to developing environmental change that meets the needs of residents, businesses and communities.
In return for your skills, we can offer the chance to be part of an inclusive team, with flexible working, career development and a whole range of generous benefits. All in a visionary borough like no other.
To apply please email your CV and supporting statement to : Martin.Kerslake@hounslow.gov.uk Your supporting statement should address the top 5 things you will bring to the role by giving examples of how you meet the requirements of the role and the values of the organisation.
