We are looking for a Natural Parks Manager for Bostor Manor to work with the London Borough of Hounslow Heritage and Parks Teams and GreenSpace 360.
This is a very exciting role which has been funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund and Communities Lottery fund for an initial three-year period. However, our aim is to continue beyond the initial three years contracted fund to enable the project to deliver a robust outdoor learning and activity programme, retain the Green Flag Award for Boston Manor Park and to strengthen and sustain partnership working with voluntary and statutory partners.
In addition the post holder will be responsible for the project to restore and unlock the heritage of the site; maximise its incredible biodiversity; capitalise on the sites pivotal location; provide learning and educational opportunities for training, arts and creative initiatives; improve health and well being; help to reverse social deprivation in the Brentford and the Syon wards; and implement sustainable funding and management models to ensure the park thrives and is financially resilient.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of maintaining a public park and gardens including nature areas, water & water boundaries, and woodland trees (including. veterans), preferably within a historic landscape, be organised, have experience of giving presentations and be skilled in managing employees, volunteers and contractors. They will also be experienced in revenue and capital budget management techniques including zero based budgeting and the ability to co-ordinate robust budgetary management.If you are passionate and enthusiastic, understand the benefits of teamwork and working in partnership with others, have clear communication skills, can work on your own initiative within guidelines, prioritise and meet deadlines this role could be for you.
